Hello Batrud, The verb 'to deal' is an irregular verb, just as you thought. The three forms of the verb are: Base form = to deal Past simple form = dealt Past participle form = dealt It can be used as a verb (in the forms shown above) or as a noun. VERB definitions: with object = to give one a share = 'deal me in' (include me), without object = (followed by with or in) = 'The teacher dealt with the student's behaviour' or 'The banker deals in shares' NOUN definition = a business transaction or an agreement = The agreed on the deal after several meetings. Is there any abbreviation for the word "kindergarten" to make it shorter?
Best answer
Denis DubenkoI am a professional English tutor and teacher for children and adults.Actually "kindergarten" is a German word. In English this is spelled like "kidsgarden". - Does the word "aye" have a slang meaning?
If aye has a slang meaning, what does it mean?
Best answer
Saying "Aye" is not slang. It is what's knows as VERNACULAR. DEFINITION: Vernacular = (Noun) = A language or dialect spoken by the normal people in a particular country or region. It's the old (and current) Scottish way of saying "Yes".
Best answer
Both are actually correct, it is just the old and new version of spelling the word. Vender is the traditional way of spelling the word. With pronunciation it may depend on the origin of the speaker as different English speaking nations pronounces it differently. it is basically like to old adage of tOmato or tomAto, different people emphasize different parts of the word.

- What is "out of pocket"?
Hi there! Tell me, please, if something is out of my pocket, what does it mean? I also heard "outta pocket". What is that?
Best answer
Hello Marcinek, I will now explain the different meanings of the phrase 'out of pocket'. 1. The most common meaning is to explain the money you have to spend out yourself, that isn't paid by someone else. Example: If you claim on your insurance for a medical matter, the Insurance Company may pay 80% of the costs, but you would pay 20%. That means you are 'out of pocket' for 20% of the costs. (literally - the money came out of your trouser pocket). 2. Another meaning is to show you have lost money because of something that happened. Example: if you buy $50 tickets for a show, then the show is cancelled but the money is not paid back to you, you would be 'out of pocket' for $50. We can also use the phrase 'in your pocket' to say someone has full control of another person. Example: if a businessman has a politician 'in his pocket', it means he controls what that politician does. I hope both of my answers (meaning and pronunciation) have helped. Best wishes Laura
