  • Seeking Tutor for Duolingo English Test (DET)

I am looking for a tutor to help me prepare for the Duolingo English Test (DET). My goal is to achieve a score of +120 out of 160. If you have experience with the DET and can provide guidance, please let me know. Thank you!

Great. Several learners of mine have found these tests helpful. Taking the Duolingo mock tests would be the very first thing you do. This will help us understand where you stand and which areas we can work on. When you're going to take the test and how much time you can spend each day are questions which can help us create a better learning plan for you. I'd love to help you with that. Feel free to message me or book a trial lesson with me and we can get to work rightaway. :)

  • Does anyone have recommendations for improving business (formal) English writing book etc?
  • What do you do when the student is too shy and kind of stressed out?
    Best answer

I will continue to smile and ask my student questions about themselves to make them feel at ease and then relate what they are saying to myself so they know that I understand and I have interest in what they are telling me so they can open up easily.

Hello everyone! There are several types of verbs in English. Here are some of them: • Action verbs (run, walk, play) • Stative verbs (love, like, hate) • Transitive verbs (they need an object) • Intransitive ( they don’t need any object) • Linking verbs (they link the subject with its complement) • Auxiliary verbs (have, do, be) • Modal verbs (can, could, would) • Regular verbs (don’t change their base form) • Irregular verbs (change their base form) •Phrasal verbs (look for, ask for) •Infinitive verbs (the base form of the verb, normally used after the preposition ‘to’) Hope it helps!!!❤️

  • What are some innovative and engaging methods to learn and practice English?
    Best answer

To make learning English both innovative and engaging, I encourage a student to watch a movie or a series with subtitles, practice shadowing by repeating what native speakers say and engage in role-playing activities like ordering food or having a job interview. I also suggest writing a journal, singing along to songs and practicing new vocabulary in daily conversations to make learning practical and enjoyable
