Creating a comfortable learning environment for students is essential, along with guiding them so they know where to begin. Then, I start teaching them from there. I have many foreign students learning Vietnamese at A0-A1 level. This is how I support them: I start by asking a few question to understand the student better: their interests, their learning goals, etc... Then I ask if they'd like to begin with pronunciation and greetings. If the student agrees, we move forward with that.

As a musician and songwriter, I started a workshop in Turkey at the language school where I was working. The response was far better than I ever expected! Whether they were musicians or not, everyone loved it, and by the end of each session, we had created a new song. It was a lot of fun, and the songs turned out great! Recently, I did a similar workshop with a young student who plays guitar. Together, we wrote his first song about a fish that wants to escape the aquarium and live in the sea. It was brilliant! I'd love to see how far I can take this idea.
