When doing comprehension, these are some of the things you can do: 1. Underline words and phrases you do not understand or recognize to go over later. 2. Read the passage or paragraph several times after searching the unfamiliar words or phrases until you fully understand what you are reading. 3. Write down key points from the passage that you believe will be needed in the questions section. 4. Read each question carefully until you understand what the question is asking. 5. Review the key points you wrote down and see if any one answers the question. 6. If the key points don't answer the questions, then go back to the passage and highlight the information needed to answer the questions. 7. If you have problem understanding some parts, read the those parts more carefully and check the phrases that look unfamiliar to you. Comprehension requires vast knowledge in vocabulary and sentence structures. So read, try to summarize, and check any points that seems wage to you. Gradually, you will improve in comprehending texts.

When answering comprehension questions or from Novel: 1. Identify the specific scene, character or theme referenced and clarify what the question asked ( summary, analyze, inference). 2. Re-read the relevant passage and highlight or underline key phrases and sentences. 3. Break down the question into components and organize your thoughts and supporting evidence. 4. Use your own words( avoid quotes unless necessary). Address all parts of the question and provide context. 5. Try to offer insights into characters' motivations, themes and symbolism. 6.
