This question is an old and tricky one. Why would someone want to learn a language, especially French? Too intellectual, too many grammar rules, too long to learn, impossible to pronounce, etc. As if French was only taking away our precious time and not giving us ananything valuable in return! Really? Let's start with simple facts. There are 321 million French speakers in the world. French is the 5th world language. 93 million students are schooled in French. 51 million people learn French. It is also the 2nd most taught foreign language throughout the world and the 4th language used on the Internet. Not bad for a reason to learn French! But there is more. French is a key language. It opens so many doors in so many places. Literature, arts, fashion, wines, cuisine, movies, science, politics, medicine, diplomacy, music, dance, writing, etc. My point? Learn French, follow your dream, and open your own doors!
Depending on each student, a few reasons I've seen with my students on another platform: - travel to French speaking countries for holidays. - speak to online French speaking friends. - Study abroad. - Work abroad. - simply work remotely with French speakers on a specific project.

At first I have been learning french for six years it was at school but I have taken it as I will use it in my life it may be a second language for anyone as English as it's so easy for anything as projects , traveling, Working and giving lessons
Hello Usof! French can be useful for increasing professional opportunities. Also knowing the French language allows you to read French great writers in the original, as well as watch French movies and listen to French songs. It is useful if you want to travel to francophone countries. And even just knowing this romantic language causes a wonderful feeling. :))

I love French!!! And learning one more beautiful and international language like French helps to improve your comprehension skills and open other doors to great opportunities, since French is spoked in many places around the World. There is some beautiful French songs, that only French speakers can enjoy, and this is a good experience. You can find your personal good reason to learn that amazing language!!!
I personally would learn or learned french because.. first, my country is a bilingual country.. also, i think it is important to know at least two to three languages because you might have opportunities from all round the world.

La premiere phrase est au passé compose Celle-ci determine une action qui est deja terminee. Tandis que '' je faisais du shopping '' est a l'imparfait. Ceci montre une action qui en cours dans le passé.

I have been trying my best to learn french, of course I am not the best yet, but I am good with reading sometimes, not all of the time. But I cannot understand when people speak to me in french. Any useful tips would be much appreciated. My speaking is sometimes alright, I still struggle finding words as I dont know every single thing just yet.
