tests like IELTS that require a good level in all 4 skills need a good assessment of your student in the beginning and recognising their current level and and their strengths and weaknesses. then, depending on their evaluation, i start to write them a lesson plan and short-term and long-tern goals. we talk about the test's structure and then we go at the skills with different strategies that suits the student. it's important to get feedback in the process, like a mock test or such.

First of all, I'm going to ask my learner to specify her/his goal I mean should the focus be on speaking and listening or should the focus be on reading and writing. Than I'm going to use some models from the previous exams.

Start testI have not prepared any student yet. However, to pass the exam with a score of 8.5 the students will be tested on good pronunciation especially when speaking to the examiner. They will have to listen and be able answer the questions. They should have good eye-contact and most of all be prepared for any topic that may be given to view for two minutes and answer them within the time given. Mention facts if you are very sure. This is for IELTS. This examination is conducted by British Council.
Preparing a student for a standardized English test requires a combination of strategies. First, you will want to assess the student's strengths and weaknesses, and to tailor the tutoring sessions accordingly. You will also want to familiarize the student with the format and content of the test. In addition, you can practice specific skills, like grammar and reading comprehension, and give the student sample questions to work on.
