Nick asks a good question. Some students just want the next project and a yes or no. Other students need to know 'why'. I've always been a 'why' student. It's a slow process. Thankfully feedback can be a smile or a nod, and it doesn't always need to be a complicated 'why' - or so I've learned. lol

It depends on the type of feedback. Is the feedback negative or positive? It also depends on the manner of approach to relay the feedback.
Any kind of feedback should always be positive and tactical, to improve the learners capabilities and self-awareness.
Growth, stimuli and confidence. When you manage to spark these three you have a winning formula in teaching.
Continuous, and more importantly, positive feedback are essential for motivating and building confidence. These are key elements in helping students to learn and develop their skills
In my opinion: Effective feedback assists the learner to reflect on their learning and their learning strategies so they can make adjustments to make better progress in their learning. The purpose of feedback in the assessment and learning process is to improve a student's performance - not put a damper on it. It is essential that the process of providing feedback is a positive, or at least a neutral, learning experience for the student.
