My favourite (UK English spelling) topic to teach is a little different, it is paraphrasing. Students are so often told by teachers that there is only one way to say things, and as such, teachers hear rigid, stilted and clumsy answers to their questions. Getting someone to realise that it is far better to say "we went home and a cup of tea" than "we repaired to our domicicilium and prepared an infusion of hot water and shredded tea leaves" (this was actually said to me!) is probably the most rewarding part of a lesson. English is a highly flexible language, and it is vital to teach that fact to a student. When this is understood, a student's confidence and sense of adventure sky rockets, leading to their level of English going up a notch or two.
I love teaching grammar because grammar is the foundation of the English language. Grammar helps you to understand how sentences are put together and how words are used. It also helps you to express yourself clearly and accurately. Knowing grammar rules can also help you to avoid common mistakes.

I love to teach idioms. it's fun to talk about their origin and the way we use them, and it's usually fun for the student the learn different idioms and try to put it in context
