Do not reply a negative sentence with a "me too" .
If someone says "I don't like chilli", reply with a " me neither or neither do I", not "me too" because "me too" is for positive sentences only.

Short question answers are always; first, yes I do or No I don't. Sometimes, it's difficult to distinguish between positive and negative sentences. It is also alloud to have a positive sentence with a negative idea like I have no job..
Or you can say: same here.
You can say "Unfortunately, that rings true for me too." or "I'm afraid, I share the same sentiment." or "Unfortunately, I am in the same boat."
