Total Physical Response(TPR) is one of the best ways to engage with students online
for kids i use songs,videos and games for adults i try to talk about different topics.
For kids i use interactive lessons such as props and videos. And adults the conversations depend on their needs
It depends on the students' interests and needs .For example :if the student is interested in travelling ,I try to use topics about travelling ,meanwhile enhancing their vocabulary and grammar knowledge.
I engage my students in activities that inspire or motivate them to enjoy online learning. For example ; the use of technology, self discovery experiences, associate learning with real life experiences and make time for question and answer session with timely feedback. In esscence, the aim is for students to learn while having fun.
During class lessons I interact with my students a lot and allow self- correction. This helps them remember their mistakes and not repeat the mistakes.
I personally try to engage students by centering practice sessions around their needs and interests. I am teaching a nurse who is a1 level by using the TO BE verb and hospital words. A b2 programmer is practicing his speaking skills 'teaching' me how to program an app, which is mirroring what he currently does at work
