Hey! My name is Elizabeth, but I also go by 'Liz'. I'm 46 years old, and I'm from Angola. I currently live in Portugal. I’m a language teacher/tutor, a personal growth consultant, a meaning counselor, and an MA student in Coaching. Furthermore, I have a bachelor's degree in English teaching and a 120-hour TEFL certificate. I mainly work with adults and since 2012 I have successfully taught students, bank employees, a couple of executives and other professionals who come to me seeking to learn/improve their English language competencies. My approach to teaching is both pragmatic and learner-centred. I have occasionally taught Portuguese. As for English, it has been my working language since 2001. I work mainly with adults and since 2012 I have successfully taught English to students, bank employees, some executives and other professionals who have come to me seeking to learn/improve their English language skills. My approach to teaching is both pragmatic and learner-centred. Firstly, I aim to meet the person's needs and interests, then I put a great focus on building communication skills and confidence. I seek to connect with the learner so that the lessons' content can meet their learning preferences, needs and interests as well as keep them highly motivated. I work with ready-made materials but also customize and develop my tools. I mainly work with adults for whom I appreciate commitment and accountability about their learning process. / Work around the person's needs and interests. Then, focus on developing communication skills and confidence. I seek to connect with the student so that the content of the classes can meet their learning preferences, needs and interests, in addition to keeping them highly motivated. I work with ready-made materials, but I also customize and develop my support material. I work mainly with adults whose commitment and responsibility I appreciate when it comes to learning.
