My favorite part of English is its simplicity. For instance, in languages such as Spanish and Portuguese verb conjugation and gender assignation are complex. However, those problems do not exist in English. However, English does lack of a standardized pronunciation convention. In other words, it is required to learn by memory how words are pronounced because there is no way to know how a word is pronounced in English just by reading it.
