I think it's great. It reinforces your listening skills and it helps you to learn a lot of slang terms, idioms and vocabulary. Your ears get used to the accent and you get used to speaking fast.
If both languages are English, you think in English and also get a chance to read the words and hear them at the same time. If you listen English and read in your mother tongue you ignore what you are listening to. Need to read and listen in English for it to help you learn.
I don't like movies with subtitles. I think that movies with subtitles can be discouraging for the learners. Especially when it comes to learn English Language I suggest my students to watch the movie without subtitles. Try to grasp the words that are pronounced. Gradually they would be able to understand the story, words, characters and many more.

On the surface, it might be great, but it certainly is not. Why, you ask? Just think about this scenario: you are speaking to somebody, and they are reading something. They are not actually listening to you. It is exactly the same as watching a movie with subtitles. You stop listening to the sounds of the words and start reading. The result is that you will not improve your pronunciation; you will not hear the different tones used in the dialogue, which will result in you not being able to use them. Your depth of knowledge of English will not increase. While it will be difficult to begin with, and you may think it impossible to do, listen and watch the movie without subtitles. After about three weeks or so, you will be able to listen, understand, and enjoy spoken English. Your pronunciation and confidence will also come along in leaps and bounds. It’s a great idea to watch movies with subtitles, you can learn a lot of new words and how to use them in different situations. However, it’s better to watch movies with subtitles once or twice and after that turn it off and try to watch without subtitles.
I think is it a great way to improve listening and reading skills.Learners can learn how words are written and pronunced.
it's been proven that it's best to use no subtitles or Eng. at least. because we will only read subtitles unconsciously

Actually, when we say walk in the street, we don't know which street exactly, but when we say walk on the street, we exactly know which street they are walking on. For example: she was walking on st.jose street. Plus we can use along the streer instead
