A verb shows an action such as walking, eating, writing etc. An adverb tells that how, why, when and where an action is performed and an adjective tells about the quality, quantity, number and size of a noun or pronoun. Yes, we can use all of them in a single sentence. For example 1. A tall boy has solved the quiz quickly. Tall is an adjective because it is giving information about the size of the noun which is boy in this sentence. Solved is a verb because it is an action. Quickly is an adverb because it shows how an action is performed.

  • Verbs express actions, occurrences, or states of being. An adverb is a word that describes a verb. Adjectives are words that describe the qualities or states of being of nouns. Adjectives can also describe the quantity of nouns. An example of all three in a sentence: While dribbling the basket ball, I spun around and slam dunked the filthy rim.
