How do you help your students become better readers and listeners ?
5 answers from our tutors
Hi My first advice is watching TV series and listening podcasts. In addition buying favourite books in English Best regards
I always work in different methods with my students. Sometimes I plan little fun activities like games and I always have a question of the day which they'll read and we will talk about it together. Sometimes I even ask them to write the answer and then read it. At times, I will read to them and ask them questions based upon what we just read. And I always make sure the student is engaging in the lessons.

Start testIf they are low basic students, the reading comes with the audio program, so I ask them questions on the reading as a warm up.and then to read silently and pay attention to the recording through and through, after that I ask them to check the vocabulary they do not understand and go through it. When this first process is over I ask them to to answer the questions about the rext .Also, I ask the student to read the text out loud. To wrap up I ask follow up questions and answes. I mean, they reply with their own words. Input Hypothesis and output Hypothesis.
Let the student read, and correct the mistakes. You take in what you read. Read aloud helps a lot.
By engaging them in reading and speaking during lesson
