1.Make sure you use as many kinds of grammar exercises in textbooks and websites so you get to target as many grammar skills as possible. 2. Always read the instructions well and make sure you know which language structures or grammar rules you are supposed to use in each exercise.

  • I follow the grammar rules. For students within the ages of 6 onwards, they are taught Verbs - action words, Nouns - people, places, animals or items. Proper Nouns - Names of people, places and items eg. brand names of cars and food. Students participate orally before they write in their activity books. Most private and international school children are able to identify what are nouns, verbs, Pronouns etc. For non-English speaking students we have to let them listen, watch a podcast or do a simple quiz with multiple choice. answers. Students can check if they are correct. They are given written work to remember nouns, verbs, conjunctions, adjectives and so on. Most of the students I teach do not have difficulty in identifying the verbs or nouns however they do tend to make mistakes when it is a singular noun or plural noun. Example: She (sings/sing) beautifully. They (go/goes) to school by bus.
