There's only one podcast I tell my students to listen to, and that is "The Archers.". This is the only podcast that uses real-spoken English. It is a radio drama, which means there is a storyline, so it holds the student's interest. Students will have to start listening properly to the conversations, as there is no transcript. Before long, their confidence increases, and they will start trying out idioms and phrasal verbs, making their English less stilted. The podcast is only 15 minutes long, with a new episode being released every day, so the student will hear new things every day. For advanced learners I really recommed 'Same but Different' by Keelin Moncrieff, 'I'm Grand Mam' by Kevin Twomey and PJ Kirby, and 'The Basement Yard' by Joe Santagato. The first two are great if you want to listen to Irish accents and the last one is American.
