Picture books are the most effective way to get the young learners speaking. I use Cambridge Starters, Movers and Flyers wordlist picture books.

  • Visual aids, like pictures, can indeed be highly effective, but combining them with other strategies often yields the best results. Repetition and Routine, repeating key words, phrases, and actions consistently to build familiarity.

  • You can elicit the vocabulary you want to teach by presenting that on the board or showing them pictures and trying to make them repeat after you and create simple sentences with those vocabs.

  • For begginer students, it can be a little challenging but with patience both you and your student can achieve anything. I use pictures, and I try to familiarise myself with their native language(google translate) and when I say a specific word in english I sometimes translate it to their language( example, day- Gun...) I also along with these two methods, use body language, younger students love this and I have seen learn faster and easier.
