As Greek i totally can understand it. The food tastes bad if you don't put love in it. Not the love for the food itself but the love that you have for the whole culture :) 

In my culture, the connection with the food is not strong as it is for italians, but brazilians also love to gather and celebrate with food.

In the study of grammar, which is often the least "exciting" part of a language, I guide the student to deduce the grammatical rule independently and to apply it in more general contexts. Learning grammar in this way enables students to become more proficient faster and ensure the learning sticks.
