Grammar is best learned through examples. If you must read a grammar book, don't focus on the rules but on the examples given cause that would be your reference. Actual listening and speaking practice is still the best though.
The best way to teach either grammar and vocabulary is creating a real context for the student, so that they can personalise the learning content. Thus, they'll be able to acquire the knowledge faster.

Grammar is just imporrtant when u want to be more academic and deep understanded person of a language, but if a great invironment is bieng prepared for practicing a language don't focuce on, then!
I am gonna say via listening and reading and not just studying boring rules and try to memorize them.
It is good to teach grammar both implicitly and explicitly. Provide a lot of samples and personalization which you can make sure it's understood.
Every lesson/student is and will be different, however, one should have basics to begin with, see what works best for student. Visuals, roleplay CCQ's.
Grammmar is to be taught as an integral element in teaching rather than teaching it as a particular topic
some teachers teach it explicitly, others do it implicitly. most of them, however, overlook strengthening the connection between grammar rules and real life situations. The way I see it, teachers need to focus on making learners aware of the possible forum on which a language user can apply the rule. Further, this relation should be so empowered that the learner becomes able to use it subconsciously.
