Well, it is what puts food on my table! hahaha.
I love travelling, discovering new stuff, new culture, talking to people in general. English is a must for me, cannot imagine myself not knowing this language and still travelling and talking to strangers.. would be crazy!
English is important primarily because it helps to improve communication; as time goes on, the English skills improve helping to prepare for a better occupation. So, all these aspects are important.

Specifically speaking , for majority of the aspects fields , English language is the fist and mandatory step to go through;university students ,business men,pilots ,applying for disparate universities or even running a corporation requires your English language skill so as to tackle and meet the expectations.
English language is the medium of communication nowadays in most parts of the world, that's why you need to learn and be well equipped.
It is my native language, the one I am an expert at, Afrikaans being my second, then snippets from various other languages. It is the language to communicate with and best chances are that most people native or foreign choose English to speak with.
