I am a native of English what I find challenging sometimes vocabulary but I do alot of studying on it to become much better.
Our language is hard to learn because of the many inconsistencies. This makes for a lot of fun challenges for the teacher and learner. Here are some examples: Unlike Spanish for example, our vowels do not always have the same sound. I could have up to three sounds, or even no sound. Our verbs can be tricky. For example, I would say "they eat" but but "he eats", when normally an "s" makes things plural. The plural for mouse is "mice", but the plural for house is not "hice". Then there's the rules on where to put emphasis. In English, some words emphasize the first syllable, others the last, while others somewhere in the middle.
