I personally believe to be an ideal teacher should start with personality and how you craft or do your lessons. Being patient and understanding that students won't be perfect and have empathy.
An ideal teacher is someone who has the key qualities and skills to effectively teach and engage engage with learners. Someone who has strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, patience and empathy. As a student, I would choose a teacher that accommodates students from different backgrounds and of course who is well equipped with skills and qualities for a fun class.

An ideal teacher should craft personalized lessons for each student and adapt on the go. While some of the students are fast learners, some need more attention and dedication. Fun and interactive lessons are key for someone wanting to learn a new language: using games in the classroom is a great way to increase attention span and make the learning process more enjoyable, both for young learners as well as for adults.

a great teacher is patient, kind, and understanding that the student is still learning the native language, English. As an ESL teacher I allow mistakes in my class, because that is how we all learnt a new language, I don't only become a tutor to my students, but also a friend. Because conversational lessons are important to practice oral expression.

I don’t fully understand what you mean by “get attached”. However, during school breaks a teacher might share a few learning tips and provide a few extra exercises aimed to boost fluency or any other area that the student needs to work on. I personally make myself available to learners at anytime providing that they’re willing to pull their weight.
