One of the biggest challenges my students face when learning English is consistency and self-motivation. With the flexibility of online learning, it can be easy to fall behind or lose momentum. Many students struggle to establish a regular study routine, which can hinder progress and make it difficult to achieve their goals. Additionally, some students may struggle with the lack of face-to-face interaction, which can make it harder to stay engaged and motivated. As an online teacher, I try to address these challenges by providing regular check-ins, setting achievable goals, and offering feedback and support to help students stay on track and motivated.

English grammar and sentence structure is very different from those of other languages, it can be very complex. When it comes to listening and speaking it can be difficult to understand and participate in conversations. Learning and remembering a new word to enhance vocabulary can also be a challenge and difficult. Pronunciation is key to understanding meaning.
Well, English is not a phonetic language. For example, it can be difficult to understand why “rove” and “dove” are pronounced differently. And there are many other examples of this. But with a good tutor, you will quickly learn these things.
Learning English can be tricky because some words are hard to say, and grammar rules have many exceptions. It's also confusing when words have more than one meaning, or people speak with different accents. Many students feel shy about mistakes, but practicing often helps build confidence!
From my perspective, for Ukrainian and Russian speakers the biggest challenges are: articles (because in both languages we don't have articles at all), the word order in sentences (in Slavic languages we have flexible word order), a lot of tenses.

The best way to learn English is through a combination of studying grammar, vocabulary, and practicing your speaking and listening skills. The sooner you start taking English lessons, the better.
