  • I would always go with a book which you are already familiar with in your native language. This will assist you with vocabulary input. As far as pronounciation is concerned, get yourself familiar with the IPA and also get yourself familiar with how people pronounce words by looking at their mouth. Also look at your own mouth in the mirror as you pronounce each word. Once I had a speech impediment which caused me severe retrogression in my speaking abilities. Now I can speak three languages comfortably and I also can converse with effort in a fourth. These things have helped me. Let me help you.

  • The Vocabulary Builder Workbook by Chris Lele. This workbook for English ... The book covers more than 1400 essential words that will help you frame better

  • 4000 essential words is good but the best way to improve your word power and pronunciation is talking about different topics.

  • I would say that there is no one specific or perfect book, because it all depends on your development level. I can however, recommend Exploring English, written by Tim Harris and illustrated by Allan Rowe. I am not sure that I would be the perfect fit for you, but take a read.

  • I would recommend any of the Bronte sisters books! They helped broaden my vocabulary!

  • There is no one book that is "perfect" because every individual is different. Any book can help expand/practice your vocabulary because all books have different words. One could say the "perfect" book would be a dictionary because it has almost every word (or every if you're online) with definitions and how to pronounce them. However, this doesn't help students understand the word in different contexts. Even as a native English speaker myself, having the definition of a word doesn't help me understand what it means until it is used in an example. Furthermore, in order to practice pronunciation, you have to speak out loud. Plus, knowing how a word sounds and being able to actually replicate it are different, and if you are only repeating the words incorrectly, you may be practicing but not improving. To practice pronunciation, you have to practice speaking to fluent English speakers who will allow you to make mistakes but provide correction/feedback.

  • There is no specific answer to this. A book can help you to learn, but to practice you need to try and speak with English speakers.

  • There is no universal answer to that. First off, it depends on one's proficiency level. Second, the book should engage the reader. Or in other words, keep them interested and wishing to check what's on the next page. I believe it's very much down to the individual.
