Self-confidence
Having the drive and power to learn a new language such as English is pretty cool, I would definitely say that’s a strength in itself. 😄
During learning any language we have to memorize many rules like in grammar. w=We also have to practice face expressions during some words or phrases. Means we have to do a lot of things while learning a language. So we need a strong memory. I think students have a very strong memory. And this is their strong strength.

most of my students have a good vocabulary they just struggle with syntax and using those words correctly
Its really a challenging question, however it does vary from one learner to the next and possibly the level that the student is at, my thoughts.

It is normal to feel a little nervous but immitating the tutor's accent is one of the ways to improve your accent and regular communication would make you feel more comfortable talking to natives.
