  • French language is more complex than english ; the structure of the sentences is very different as french is a more elaborated and sophisticated language although english is a very direct and efficient language ; always straight to the point. the esthetic matters more in french and the content more in english.

From a start it may look complicated with pronunciations but all you need to know is to master the alphabet and the sounds first then get familiar with accents from there you easily know how to read and will understand words, gradually you will manipulate de language.

  • One thing every learner needs to know about the two languages is that both are languages that are spoken, alive,and can be learnt. But they are not 100% the same. It's advisable for learners of French to understand this from the onset. For instance the issue of masculine and feminine in french language doesn't exist in English.... For instance a girl is une fille, a ruler 📏 is une règle, an apple 🍏 is une pomme... Those are examples of feminine nouns , a boy is un garçon, a pen 🖊️ or a biro is un stylo, a pencil ✏️ is in crayon in french language those are masculine nouns. Ditto to abstract nouns they are either masculine or feminine. This is one of the difference between English and French language this diffence every learner must get used to.

  • Thank you for your answers, I loved your brainstorming. Based on my experience, it is quite easy to teach French to English speakers and vice versa because both languages have some vocabulary words that are similar in writing and different in pronunciation.

  • The differences between English and French French , is that French language uses different Tenses , we can use verb ( to have ) to express a feeling in french , french uses the negation differently , sentences are capitalized and punctuated also differently , the similarities between English and French : they are related in a sense , because French is a romance language descended from Latin with English and German influences , while English is a Germanic language with Latin and French influences , thus they share same similarity like Alphabetical letters , numbers , and number of true cognates
