When you watch television whether it’s in English or another language, put the subtitles in English and read as you watch the show. It works your brain twice as much and you learn faster.
The question ist, how you measure your progress and what means working hard. If you watch a TV show with a lot of complicated dialogues, often pause to search an unknown word in a dictionary and then learn them by heart, then it will take a lot of your time, you'll get disappointed very soon and the results will be really poor. I suggest watching an easy TV show you like and can watch multiple times. Watch it with subtitles and try to notice the pronunciation but don't look up every word you don't understand. You can also write down the phrases (not separate words) that are very common in everyday situations and use them to make your own dialogues. You can also watch YouTube channels like "watch English with tv series", and note the words and expressions they are explaining. Don't forget to practice these words and phrases at least in your head, and keep track of the stuff you've learnt.

Hi! You should > watch English TV series with subtitles > repeat scenes > take notes of vocabulary and sentences > use vocabulary like words, phrases, and sentences in daily conversations or at least make sentences with them > read them out loud and practice regularly

You can watch them with subtitles, which is going to help you of course, but sometimes try to watch them without subtitles and try to understand the context instead of following word for word. Another important thing watch all kinds of authentic materials not just series, especially the ones that you are interested in. Last thing try to use the new words or expressions that you learn whenever you talk to someone and if there is no one to talk to, talk to yourself. KEEP PRACTICING.
Listen the dialogues while reading the subtitles so you can related which word pronounced by the characters in the movie/drama. Good luck with your learning. Keep fighting!

Make sure you put English subtitles so that you can read along with the show! It will help a lot.
