Learning a foreign language is a journey of self-discovery. Hi! My name is Maksym, you can call me Max. I'm from Ukraine, my hobbies are movies, basketball, books and more. I'm passionate about teaching English and about learning different languages in general (Esperanto and Chinese atm). I love getting to know new people and explaining things, teaching English and understanding the ways people learn and communicate. I've been learning English since as early as my middle school until now. I majored in English language in a pedagogical university and I am constantly improving and trying to discover new, more efficient ways to help my students progress in English. My lessons are completely in English as I believe this is the most efficient way to help student adapt to English environment and start talking. First off, I try to understand a student's level and see what mistakes they have and what we need to work on to improve. I like explaining grammar and can dedicate whole lessons for grammar points, if you specifically need it. Also, I find it efficient to use modern ready-made lessons created by professionals on different general or specific topics (food, travel, environment, business, tech etc.) which focus on speaking, reading and listening. During lessons I usually use small talk with students from time to time in order to have a break and maybe have a little laugh. I task my students with homework aimed at working on the mistakes they have had and of course to practise the material we have covered in our lessons. My approach is deeply individualistic: I adapt lesson and homework material according to student's needs and wants.
