For an elderly person in Chinese, a warm and respectful "您好 (nin hao) works like a charm. Nin - 2nd tone Hao - 3rd tone Hope it helps :)

In Chinese culture, you can use "您"(nin second tone) to address someone who is older than you, or to express respect for the other person. "您" is equivalent to "你（ni third tone）" (In English they are all represented by "you")， but "您" is the honorific title of "你".
So normally, when you see someone around 40-50 years old, you call them 阿姨 “a yi” (means aunt) or 叔叔 “shu shu” (means uncle); but if they are over 60 years old, you call them 奶奶 “nai nai” (means grandma) or 爷爷 “ye ye” (means grandpa). But of course people would love to hear when you call them younger than their actual age, like it’s always fine to call an old grandma 阿姨，and she’ll be very happy.
