In my role as an English teacher, corporate trainer, and tutor, I firmly believe that engaging in conversation is one of the best methods for enhancing language skills. Understanding my students' perspectives helps me see how vital it is for them to feel confident using the language in real-life scenarios. I encourage them to dive into conversations from day one, which allows them to apply their knowledge practically. Instead of focusing solely on memorizing vocabulary, we engage in discussions about topics they care about, helping them to naturally incorporate new words and phrases:)
I prefer "through conversation" because it's more effective for building speaking confidence and fluency. It also allows students to engage in real-time dialogue, practicing pronunciation and listening skills while using the language in a natural context. However, other methods like reading, writing, or using language apps can complement conversation by strengthening vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension. Combining both conversation and structured learning approach usually leads to the best results for language learners.
Through conversation is the best method for students to learn and understand.
