No , I don't believe I have ever used it , however, I have heard it especially British citizens, yes, I recall 2 people I have work with, both were from the UK.

I had never used the phrase "chomping at the bit" in the daily conversation. If you were referring to the idiom "Champing at the bit" as in eager to do something. it's a bit of an old expression traced back to the 1930s and it was more commonly used in published novels. "Champing" is for British English and "Chomping" is more informal and more common in American English.
No, I do not recall ever using this phrase. I’ve heard of it for my whole life, but have not used it myself.
'' Champing at the bit'' is an idiom that means to be eager or can't wait to do something ( being impatient) To be frank, I rarely use this particular idiom :)
