Both verbal and non verbal motivation works, however it depends on the situation. In most cases, verbal motivation works more effectively.

Verbal motivation has a value if non verbal motivation plays a appropriate role . You have a lot of sincere words if you dont have attitude to impress the audience all in vain. No one gonna take you a serious motivator
Verbal motivation because you get to interact with them and their confidence boost up.
As it is said actions speak louder than words, I presume that by showing students that we are proud of what they have done and how they have improved we can have a greater impact on their ego and self confidence.

Most learners seem to be motivated by verbal communication. When the communication is shared both ways, between the teacher and student, the student gets a chance to learn by listening and speaking.
Yes they are very much motivated especially with verbal because it increases their learning ability and confidence 10 times more than normal learning process.

Verbal motivation can be effective when delivered by a trusted and respective individual,giving feedback can peak ones interest and encourage motivation whereas non verbal motivation can be potent because it oftens taps into the subconscious mind and can create a positive atmosphere.
