I am from South Africa, but grew up in a small town in the Karoo. I have been working in a pharmacy for more than 13 years but I always had a passion to teach. While I was working I completed 2 different TEFL Courses. As a tutor I will deal with a lot of different students. Each one has their own personality and circumstances. That is where I will greatly rely on my biggest strengths, which is patience and perseverance. I like Gospel and classical music and I also enjoy swimming, visiting Game Parks, good food and travelling. One of my dreams is to learn how to play the piano, guitar and especially a violin! I obtained my second TEFL Certificate in January 2023. As a new certified TEFL teacher, I am grateful for the opportunity for being able to use this platform and I do believe that it will lead to great success in the future. The best way to move forward Students from the age of 4 and older, can expect a warm and friendly teaching environment, while adults can look forward to conversations with interesting topics. I focus on the students needs and will adapt to activities and resources according to those needs. My preferred teaching strategy is inquiry-based education. It allows the students to feel comfortable, asking questions. I will also use visual aids to help students understand the material better. With the younger learners I will use the natural approach and from 4 years up I will use a lot of TPR. My goal is to help students become more effective in the use and understanding of the English language. I am looking forward to assist students in all of their English needs.
