Valery Villegas

My name is Valery Villegas, I'm 22 years old and I'm from Colombia. I'm currently studying Graphic Design, a career that allows me to express my creativity and passion for visual storytelling. In my free time, I enjoy painting, listening to music, watching movies and anime, and staying active by going to the gym. These hobbies help me stay inspired and balanced while pursuing my studies and personal goals. I have one year of experience teaching English at Academia Europea, where I have worked with students of different ages, from children and teenagers to adults, at various levels of proficiency, from beginners to advanced. During this time, I developed a solid foundation in adaptive teaching strategies, tailored to the specific needs of each age group and language level. My main focus is to create an interactive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable practicing their language skills. Although I currently have no specific certifications in teaching, my education in a bilingual school from an early age has provided me with a solid foundation in English. My teaching methodology is student-centred, using task-based and communication-based approaches. I emphasise practical application of the language, integrating real-life scenarios to help students gain confidence and improve their fluency. I believe in balancing grammar and vocabulary teaching with listening and speaking exercises to ensure comprehensive language development.
