Hi, my name is Tjatjapa from Lesotho. I am 40 years old, passionate about impacting knowledge, reading, and I love structured but fun-filled teaching, using visual aids as well as having student-centric learning. Moreover, I believe in controlled use of ice-breakers where feasible as to enable more engaged students.
I have been an English language private tutor for over two (2) years in my community, working with supplementary students to upgrade their knowledge on English grammar, sentence construction and comprehension, as well as improving how they speak English language.
Moreover, I have been a GRS Master Trainer, using football to teach youth and adolescents about life skills for three (3) years with Peace Corps Lesotho in a child friendly environment. As a Trainer, I have taught and delivered content to diverse groups of people, from youth and adolescents, gender sensitive trainings, focused group discussions, community trainings, as well as conducting professional trainings.
With youth and adolescents teaching, I strive for interactive and fun-filled sessions, while observing child sensitive environment. I believe in keeping youthful spirit in my classes, as means to garner and maintain positive energy from students. On the part of adult teaching, my sessions focus on need basis and engaging training methods that keep students engaged and interested in the content, while modifying as and when deemed necessary from feedback received. My methods range from play, mini presentations, reading articles... As adult learners have different views, perceptions and demands, I involve them on acceptable and preferred teaching practices, and tailor sessions in a controlled, but student-led manner where feasible. This helps in both myself and my students owning up to the success of our classes.
