It's good to try a variety of methods to stop it getting boring.
It depends on the student's age and interests. But mainly for kids and teenagers, I love role-play, and for adult, I believe the best way for them to reach their goals, is to have conversational base classed.

I think, for me, it's good and effective to use the interactive teaching style because your students can actively learn from you and they can apply this learning to their personal lives.
By using a needs analysis, each lesson would be tailored for each individual student’s needs to achieve their goals.
I myself use games for children as they seek fun and a lot of pair work and group work for adult classes. Of course, the choice of methods completely depends on which materials you are going to teach. To minimize my role as a teacher, I use many handouts in my class so that students become autonomous in activities. In general, no ONE method could be used in all classes and the method should vary even in the same class from time to time.
Direct method is useful. Sometimes we have to use different methods according to the age and level of the students.
My choice is MFP, Meaning, Form and Pronunciation
I think for kids are games because they have shorter attention span and overall you just have to interact with the student and use the method that works best for your student

I like to use musics, videos, games and stories. I usually do questions to know what my students like to learn better. :) I believe that if we show personal interest in our students to know how they learn better, we will stimulate their learning.
