Themself is not really used, it would refer to the individual as herself or himself. Themselves is plural so therefore refers to him and her and them.

Themself isn't used, it would directly refer to the individual as himself or herself. On the other hand, themselves which is plural, directly refers to her, him or them.

Merriam-Webster says that themself is "now used chiefly in place of 'himself' or 'herself' as a gender neutral reflexive form of 'they' when the reference is to a single person (as in 'each person can decide for themself')"

It's ok to ask when you don't know the words. That's how you learn... Themself doesn't exist dear.... When you refer to a person whether it is a man or a woman you should use "herself" for a woman and "himself" for a man but if there are two or more people in the subject that's when you use "Themselves" Hope this helps
Themself is simply "wrong". We do not use it. "Themselves" is correct. We use it when we refer to some people doing something.
Hi Esin. 'Themselves' is the correct term to be used here. Themself does not make sense grammatically as 'them' indicates plural, while 'self' indicates singular. Themself is not spoken or written in English and would be incorrect to use.
According to grammar books I've read, 'themselves' is the correct word. Since the word 'them' is plural, that's why we use 'selves' instead of 'self'.
I have never seen the word "themself" in any grammar textbook.
`themself` is also used by Americans whereas we Brits use `themselves`. I hope this will help you!
