I am American myself but I get attracted by the British accent! It's so classic.
There are in fact over 70 different British accents in the UK alone. I think the most fascinating of all of them is probably the Welsh Valleys accent. The South Welsh "sing" English when they speak, and they also use the odd Welsh word or phrase such as "diolch yn fawr" (no spelling mistakes hear) which means thank you, or "cwtch" which means a hug.

Repeat the words a lot and give a context to it, plus the picture of it. Find synonyms, make the student create sentences using the new vocab and finally of they write down a story using these new words, they won't probably forget about them easily :)
