•The first difference has to do with their appearence, alligators have more of a U-shaped snout (mouth) whereas crocodiles have a point V-shaped snout. •The second difference haa to do with their habitats (where they live) allegiators prefer fresh water , whereas crocodiles prefer saltwater °lastly crocodiles are native to Africa , Asia and Australia whereas Alligators are native to the Americas. Hello Jenny. I believe they are a different specie. a Crocodile snout is wide made to pray on mammals primarily. and alligators snout is narrow designed for fish primarily i believe.
