Hi Fred, As the expression literally sounds, imagine someone who is blind in only one eye, such a person would not be able to see what happens on that half of their sight even though it's happening right in front of them. In the same way, when issues (especially bad things) occur and people behave as though they haven't noticed the occurrence,they are said to have 'turned the blind eye', meaning even though they knew it happened, decided to pretend to have not noticed, look away or ignore the occurrence of the event. Hey Fred, Turning a blind eye to something means you notice something, you know it’s happening, but you choose to ignore it. I.e., Sarah heard her children screaming in the other room but decided to turn a blind eye and enjoy her wine. Hope this helps! :)
