I would say speaking. As it makes you practice on how to speak and pronounce new words. Which can also helps to build your confidence.
I love speaking in my Australian accent because it makes people giggle and I enjoy helping people write/read.
I love speaking as it will help in writing. Speaking comes across naturally through being a native-English speaker. For learners I believe they will need to learn how to speak it before they master writing it.

Writing because writing is an excellent way to arrange your thoughts and maximize the best kind of use of your words. there's a reason why all the best speech's in a presidents history was written first.
Speaking and Writing are two different entities. In past people prefer writing as it was the only way to save their words and sayings. People used to communicate by means of letters etc. because no audio-visual material was available at that time. I think, for that time people may love speaking or not but they prefer writing to keep their ideas safe for the next generation. But in present era, technology has surpassed all the boundaries. Now only those people can impress much who know how to speak. So, speaking is the key to attract. In a nutshell, people judge others G.O.A.T and intellectual in past or in present by looking at their published material.
I prefer speaking because it will help us to be more confident in speaking English.

To teacher "Rejoice P", I think its not appropriate to mention , "Kindly check your spelling" ... It's a common sense that it is a typo-error.... To answer Teacher Gen's question, I prefer writing.. because it is my talent :)
Both are favored by many learners. But the advantage of speaking far outweighs the disadvantages when it comes to writing based on some the theories.
