Both and they are very different and have different meanings To fall, that means as the saying goes, to fall from grace, you have been removed from a very high position to a lowly one, or being clumsy, and you fall onto the ground. To fell, is to chop down trees, to cut, bring down, or she fell from grace

  • To fall means to drop to a level that is below that of the original position. In winter the temperature FALLS below zero sometimes, to give an example. The past simple form is however, fell. To fell has a completely different meaning. It means to cut down or knock down. For example Lumberjacks felled 100 trees a day, or, he was felled in the fifth round of the boxing match.
