I didn't know if I would prefer the apple or the orange because I was undecided. I was unable to choose neither the apple or the orange because I was indecisive.

I would suggest that each statement must be used in the right context then it will makes sense and it will be correct.
"I was indecisive" is the correct option
The first option implies your choice is yet to be made, without putting the reason for this on yourself. The second option implies the lack of decision was of your own making.
