Hi Noor, In context with the options given, in this case "Pen and ink" would typically refer to something that is written (option d. In writing) or expressed in written form. It originates from the use of pens and ink as traditional writing tools before the rise of modern technology such as computers and printers. An example sentence using the idiom "pen and ink" would be "She recorded her thoughts and feelings about her trip in her journal, capturing the experience in pen and ink." Hope this helps!
For me as a South African it means a pen and the ink is inside the pen and the pen is what puts the ink on the paper. Also in some countries it is a "slang word" that means "A STINK". Mostly used in gangs
I personally love idioms , but have not come across this one, in what context is it being used?

In UK, it means a "stink"
Cockney rhyming slang for stink. The last word in cockney rhyming slang always rhymes with the word they mean.
Hi Noor, "Pen and ink" is a Cockney rhyming slang for "stink" or "bad smell" An example of this in a sentence would be "That drain cover should be an airtight seal but it's broken. There's a real pen and ink in here." This idiom would be localised to a particular slang originating in England. This is not a very common idiom spoken across the world. "Put pen to paper" is a common idiom which means to "write or begin to write something". This has a different meaning obviously but this idiom is used around the world.
