Difference between will and would?

Will- when you use ‘will’ the action you’d be taking is firm and confirmed without any hesitation. Would- is used when you have a slight hesitation in the action or situation. Both the above words belong to the future tense, and both words could be used to describe an even which would happen in the future. Will- I will go to school on Tuesday. Would- I would pick up the kids if I can be there on time
Will is used as helping verb of simple future.It is also used to show certainty as modal verbs. Would id used as past form of will. It is also used in the beginning of a sentence to ask for something politely.
Will refers to definite future actions while would refers to imaginary actions.

"Would can be used in past the tense but "Will" cannot. When to use Will and Would? "Will" used to express beliefs about the present or future. "Would" used as the past of the will, to describe past beliefs about the future.

Will is used to talk about definite future actions, while would is used to talk about hypothetical or imagined situations. For example, you would say "I will go to the beach tomorrow" to talk about a definite future action. However, you would say "I would go to the beach if I had more time" to talk about a hypothetical situation.
In addition to what others mentioned, 'would' can be used to talk about imaginary situations. For example, when you say 'I would be so scared if I see a snake' you are talking about your feeling of an imaginary situation that may or may not happen.
Will- future tense e.g, I will call you on Monday Would- past tense e.g, I would have called her when I had the time

The word "would" is a helping or auxiliary verb that is used for conditional tense. It is often used in a dependent clause in front of another auxiliary verb, have. Example: "If my car had not been repaired, I would have taken a bus." In this example, the speaker is implying that the car actually was repaired, so it is a hypothetical situation. The word "will" is ALWAYS used in simple future tense. It sounds definite. It will instill confidence in your boss if you say, "I will do that right away!"
