Hi! My name is Jean-Paul and I’m also known as JP.
I have taught adults for many years, and nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing how helping with English can make such a difference. This can be with academic English; practical language skills; or with business English and learning the language and presentation skills to find a dream job, get that promotion you really want, or to go it alone as an entrepreneur!
I have a friendly and accessible teaching style and me and my students work as a team! I love conversations with students - this is a great way to improve your English!
I am excellent at motivating learners and encouraging you to be the best you can be as an English speaker, writer, or presenter.
As well as teaching, I have had a very varied and exciting career; and I have among other things run my own businesses and worked as a project and programme manager within complex IT and infrastructure programmes.
I have worked with learners from around the world, and I love to share knowledge and experiences from different cultures.
I have been a taught adults for nearly 20 years. I have taught English in schools in the UK, although I now only teach online as I love to travel, and I am currently living in Bulgaria in southeast Europe. I am learning Bulgarian, which is a very difficult language to learn - so I really understand the challenges learners face!
As well as teaching, I am also a coach, specialising in Business Coaching and Health & Nutrition Coaching. I am also a therapist and I work with people around the world to overcome issues that affect them.
I love to teach Business English, and this includes English for entrepreneurs. Many people around the world want to start their own businesses, and having a good knowledge of relevant English can be a real advantage. I understand business - I have had several businesses and have the mindset of an entrepreneur!
My lessons are very flexible, and I like to include different activities. So, my students typically learn with a mix of general conversation, structured learning, reading and discussing articles, and many other activities.
I really understand the importance of confidence in learning and improving language skills. I often work with learners to build their confidence as well as their skills - this always helps!
