Hi! My name is Max, I'm a certified TEFL teacher from the US and I was recently based in Valencia, Spain for the past 6 months where I was teaching as an English Language Assistant through NALCAP. Before living in Spain I spent the past 5 years in Richmond, Virginia, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology and also worked as an in school English reading tutor. I am passionate about helping students achieve their English learning goals. I love languages am currently a B2 level Spanish speaker. I'm also an artist. I like attending my friends art exhibitions. I love to ride my bike around my city. I like to discover new cafes and restaurants. I like spending time with my friends and time in nature. I also love to travel and learn about various cultures and different ways of life. I have taught English in Valencia, Spain, as an English Language Assistant, working with primary school students. I have also taught in Richmond, Virginia, as an in school English reading tutor working with students one on one and in small groups. I also have some experience teaching adults. I have experience using different programs to improve students reading and writing levels. I am also TEFL certified. I have a relaxed approach to teaching and I like to make my lessons student centered. I like to make my lessons relevant and useful to real life situations that students may encounter. I also tailor my lessons to the needs and the levels of the students I work with. My main focus is on general English conversation practice, reading, writing, grammar, phonics, and pronunciation. I have also used books, worksheets, games, and videos to teach English.
