Larissa Mehl

My name is Larissa, I am 31 years old. I have a degree in International Relations, with a master's degree in Latin American Studies. I am a music, travel and cultural enthusiast. I traveled throughout Latin America for most of my 20 years, and I have accumulated a lot of knowledge. That is why I am a musical, gastronomic, philosophical and linguistic dictionary, which I love to share with everyone around me. My hobbies are playing various instruments, talking to people from different countries, reading, embroidery, painting, walking, writing. I also like to go out with my friends. I have always had a talent for teaching, so I started doing it to pay for my travels, but today I dedicate myself full time to teaching. And I see it as a philosophy of life, not just as a job. I started teaching Spanish privately over 10 years ago. I stopped for a while and came back during the pandemic. I have had over 50 students, most of them Brazilian, and I teach Latin American Spanish, having given private lessons, courses and training. As for Portuguese for foreigners, I started teaching it because of an opportunity that arose. I have three and a half years of experience and have taught over 80 people, mainly French speakers, but I also have experience with other nationalities. I do not have a teaching degree, but I do have language proficiency certificates. My students can expect very interactive classes! They will start speaking from the first day, and if they already have a certain level of the language, we will assess them and build on that. They will also learn cultural and social aspects of the languages we are studying! I always try to make classes fun but committed to learning. I prepare personalized material with excerpts from books, websites and images for us to work on in each class. I like to give students tasks and exercises if they want to advance quickly, but I also adapt to each student's pace and learning style. I also really enjoy teaching older people or those who have difficulty retaining information, because I had that difficulty when I was younger.
