Hello, students! My name is Joe, and I used to work for the international language-learning company Rosetta Stone as a Trainer for several years and am very interested and passionate about all aspects of language learning and language acquisition. I've worked with students ranging in age from 5 years old through 65 years old. I’ve also taught English online to Korean students. As my student, you can expect a lot of time spent developing your confidence in speaking English or Spanish. For many language students, it's the speaking component of language learning that presents the main challenge and brings them the greatest anxiety. Although I can certainly empathize and understand why that is, I have a “golden rule of language learning” that I adhere to if a mistake is made - consisting of four parts: 1. RELAX 2. RESET 3. REVIEW 4. REMEMBER 5. REPEAT I create a safe and fun learning atmosphere and encourage you to speak English or Spanish with confidence, one word at a time, and sentence by sentence - until speaking in your new language becomes just as natural for you as speaking in your native language! We will use plenty of audio-visual materials of different types as we go in order to incorporate cultural reference points as well as gain knowledge of the nuances used by native speakers - through songs, poems, tongue-twisters, etc.
